Papa and the kids

Always something to see or do at the farm. Papa has some new calves and took the girls to the barn to see them today. This little guy is pretty quiet and cute, they sure enjoyed petting him, although Emm wasn't too sure about it Ely thought it was great.

Big Prairie Sky

Big Prairie Sky.... We had a long road trip today from Grande Prairie all the way to Grandmas house at Big Valley.  We left early at 9am and arrived at Grandmas house in time for supper.  The sky was grey and cloudy when we left and this is how it looked a few hours later at Camrose. Sure was a nice drive, long but nice.

New hairdo for Auntie

Good thing for Auntie Cheryl I hid the scissors and combs! LOL. Playing hairdresser is one of their favourite games and tonight Auntie was the "client".

Ely is washing Aunties hair!! They sure do have great imaginations.

Ooohh PUDDLES!!

PUDDLES!! Finally we have WARM weather and the Melt is ON!!! Our cul-de-sac is one giant puddle and the girls and I had a FUN time jumping and splashing in them today. I mean WHO can resist a puddle??

UH-OH looks like these boots just aren't tall enough!! (not quite as clear as I was hoping for)

My new Buddy!

Meet my new buddy Kobey Boon, he's a cutie patutie for sure!!  Sure wish we had met him and his parents before now!!! They are great people and my girls sure do love  to play with this cutie pie.  His Mom and I decided we shouldn't waste a day of sunshine so we took all the kids on a walk to the park.

 As you can see My Emmarsyn found a puddle to jump in, it's nice to FINALLY see those puddles!!!

Morris the Moose!

Looks like Morris is taking in the sunshine today too!! He looks quite friendly as I pulled up pretty close to him and he never even stirred. Just looked at me like "lady what the heck are ya doing!"

Looks like he's got a bit of an "owee" on his back end.

  My husband is an avid hunter and outdoorsman and he must be rubbing off on me cause I was soo excited to see Morris again. I'm continually bugging him for taking pics of the moose, deer and elk he sees when hunting cause they always look the same to me. Guess I can't bugg him anymore! LOL.

Buster-Custard.

Mr. Buster-Custard is pretty interested in the print on my rocking chair, either that or he's ignoring me. I was never really a cat lover (or liker) until my daughter fell in love with this grey kitten our neighbour was trying to get rid of.  Now 2yrs later here I am taking photos of him. LOL Guess I like him now.

A Foggy GP Morning!

Hello Fog!! Just beyond  these trees is a nice park that we usually can see from our back deck, however not such a clear view this morning.  Thankfully the fog lifted as Mr. Sun came out to shine on us. It's still chilly out but it's better than being -15.

Surprise Breakfast!

"Surprise Mom" My 5yr old shouted. I wandered into the kitchen and this is what I saw, 3 bowls, 3 cups, 3 spoons all set out. She was making breakfast for the 3 of us. She made my heart sing when I saw what she was doing. Her sister joined her on the chair and wanted to help too.  It was by far the best breakfast I've had in a long time. LOL

Delicate Hands

Looks really can be deceiving, her hand looks so tiny and delicate when really it's just the opposite. They are tiny yes but full of strength and courage. Not so long ago they were very very very tiny, at 1lb 2oz these hands have come along way in 4yrs time.

Good Morning!

Good Morning Grande Prairie!  As I was taking the girls to their shools this morning we pulled over to this field and enjoyed  the sunrise for a few minutes. It was such a bright and clear sky today and I'm so glad we stopped to enjoy it.

Where are you Spring?

Officially it's Spring, or at least that what the calendar says! Not so much up here in Grande Prairie. We woke up to an overcast sky, frost on everything and still a snow covered ground.  A couple of hours later it started snowing and has yet to stop. Someone has made Mother Nature upset and I sure wish they would apologize to her!!!

Mmmmmm Muffins.

Mmmm Banana Muffins!!  I enjoy baking goodies and trying out new recipes. A friend gave me a new recipe for banana bread and I made it into muffins and they are very YUMMY! I was looking for a new photo to add to my journey and these looked quite appealing.

Mr. Attitude

Meet my dog Sam, or better known as Mr. Attitude! He's a typical small dog that likes to bark at anything and everything. He loves to cuddle and sleep with whomever will let him on their bed or lap. I'm not really sure he listens to anyone at all. I love him anyway though.

Snowing AGAIN!!

The day started out promising, a bit on the cooler side but still pretty nice for March or so I thought.  By afternoon the wind had picked up and the clouds covered the sky and as I post this its early evening and alas SNOWING AGAIN!!! UGGGG. I'll be soooo happy when SPRING finally gets here!!!

Finally a sunset

On our drive home tonight from Edmonton to Grande Prairie we had made a pitt stop at Valleyview. The sun was just setting and it looked so pretty and peaceful so I pulled onto a service road and took a couple of photos.  I always seem to be busy putting kids to bed when it's sunset time but tonight I took the time to watch!

Fallen Four Memorial

These four men stand tall and proud in a very serene and peaceful park. You don't seem to notice the hwy full of trucks and cars rushing by. I was filled with mixed emotions as I walked around these men clicking away with my camera. I felt like I should be quiet and respectful almost like permission should be asked for taking the photos.

Snack Time

A tasty treat for the birds. My girl made this tasty treat today during a school fieldtrip to a ski hill, a FUN FUN time was had by all though. I think most of the parents had just as much fun if not more than their 5yr old  kids.

Broken Cars

"Broken Cars" is what our girls always holler when we drive by the scrap yard. They just love the site of broken cars. Emm always asks me "how did they get to be broken cars Mom?" It's a very good question I think.

Sleepin' Beauty

Miss Emm rarely sleeps in the afternoon but today her duracells just plum ran out! At almost 6yrs old she still has that sweet cherub face.

Sisters Alyssa and Kyla were playin around on floor today and auntie  loves their sweet faces.

Reflextion

Out for a walk tonight and this puddle caught my eye... a neat reflextion of the house.

The snow is a melting and the girls wanted to take the jeep out for a drive.

 Hmmm perhaps snow tires may be needed..

Here Comes Dad

Finally Dads home....well for a few days at least. The girls and I love to watch the airplanes come in. Captured a few nice shots this afternoon.

Out for a Stroll

We were on our way home today and just wandering alongside the road was this fella/lady (I've no idea which).  After a quick run home to grab my camera we drove over to take a closer look.  We almost missed it cause he's walking back into the bushes. My youngest wanted to get her gun and the oldest said NO.  LOL I think we've got another hunter in the family.
