Ridin' High

Wooo Eeeee!!! This was one CRAZY ride or at least thats what it looked like as I was a very big chicken and kept my feet firmly on the ground!!! It's a good thing that Grandma/Auntie Sharon is a daredevil so Zachary and Brady had a companion on these crazy rides. At sixty something yrs old she went on the crazy green roller coaster with the boys too. Way to go Grandma!!!  Last year we all ventured to the Zoo and had a Blast and this year we chose Calaway Park as our "family fun adventure" not sure what we're going to choose next year. I do know that whatever we choose there will be tons of Fun and laughs and best of all MEMORIES!!! Thanks Grandma/Auntie Sharon, Auntie Cheryl, Zachary, Brady, Emmarsyn & Ely for a Great Day!!!

Interesting Tree

We came across this tree on our nature walk at Canmore and I found it very interesting. At first glance it looks like a fallen tree, either by nature or animal. However, I noticed a face on this tree when I was looking at the photos on my computer.  There are 2 eyes and a nose with whiskers.  Pretty neat I thought.

a Sunday drive

Rather than spend the day sweltering in the heat we decided to take the girls for a drive to see the Mountains.  We thought it would be a good idea  to show them what they look like as Emm keeps calling "large hills", "mountains".  We took the scenic route through Bragg Creek then over to Canmore for some lunch. We stopped at a little camp spot and wandered around where a friendly biker showed us a baby bunny. Then we tootled off and stopped alongside a small lake where the girls got to dip their toes and cool off a bit.  We finished off our Sunday drive coming home through Cochrane and Calgary.  We sure do love those Sunday drives!!

Sesame Street...

What a FUNTASTIC day!!!  I've always loved big bird, ernie and bert and the whole Sesame Street gang but to see it through the eyes of my girls today was priceless.  I thought at first that our 6yr old was a bit too old for this but she had the most fun out of all of us.  The girls danced and sang and cheered, I even caught Dad singing along too.  Just proves that you're never too old to see Big Bird!!!

Storms a brewin'

Well the wind picked up, the dust flew and even the screens on my East windows flew off, I thought we were in for one "heckuva" storm. Turns out Mother Nature was "just trickin'" with us. These are some of the clouds from the West and South view from our house. Thanks dear for picking up the screens and putting them back on.

I can hear the ocean

Here is the "redneck" way of hearing the ocean, just put a bowl up to your ear and "poof" you're listening to the ocean. Baaaahaaa.  Seems lately my girls are always having snacks in their favourite bowls, one purple one green. The other night Ely put them both up to ears and announced she could hear the ocean.  I guess Dad can too, one would think he would know what it sounded like as he's fron New Brunswick. LOL. LOVE the imagination of my girls!!!

Thief thief!!!

Who stole the cookie from the cookie jar???? Hmmmm!! This was FULL yesterday as the girls and I made 2 batches of cookies, chocolate chip and peanut butter! As I can see the peanut  butter ones are all GONE I can only surmise that either Dad or Emm was the thief! Guess I'll just have to pull the extras out of the freezer.

Artists in the making

My budding artists have been busy on new works of art! We have started collecting rocks for our "rock garden" and they have decided they needed to be painted. We only have a few small rocks right now but I have plans for some larger ones to be brought in, I'm just not sure how I'm going to get those larger ones into the garden!! Guess I'd best find my wagon and some strong backs, arms and legs.

Evening Walk

After a very "blustery" day the wind calmed down and it was a lovely evening for a walk.  Just on the other side of our house you'll find endless places to run, walk and explore. Soon however, there will be new neighbours moving in. I will enjoy our open spaces while we have them and so will my dogs.

Barbies anyone?

A few barbies, an dollhouse and a few girls = hours of FUN! I remember playing barbies when I was a little girl, my sister and cousin and I would go to Leann's house and play for hours. We would even exchange barbie clothes, I wonder do girls do that anymore?

Pool Party

Day Three of our visit....I'm not sure if the weather was nice enough or we just got tired of hearing "can we have a pool party".  The girls got their pool party and what a FUN time they all had, I'm sure my Emm has webbed feet cause it was a chilly pool and she never came out once!  We sure had a great time on our visit in Marwayne, thanks again to Mike, Candice, Jaclyn, Taylor and Kamryn for having us. We are very blessed to have friends like you!! Next time I'm going to bring a larger bottle of the Captain! LOL.

Jumping, Skipping, Running...

Day two of our visit in Marwayne was filled with lots of outdoor activities; running, jumping, skipping and frisbee. The day ended with a sleepover in the trailer with four very tired little girls. Maybe next year Kamryn will be big enough for those much anticipated sleepovers. I know Emmarsyn, Jaclyn, Taylor and Elyzabeth sure enjoy them.

Tea Time

Tea time at the Holowaychuk's was like none other. We spent a few days in Marwayne with some great friends and it was like we never left. All 5 girls played and played and played together, it was just like old times.  Even the us parents had a "tea party" of our own. SOOO much FUN!!

Cruisin'

Dustin pulled the big yellow combine out today to get it ready for harvest.  While he was checking it out he found 2 baby kittens tucked up inside the back end. After taking them back down to their momma Ely asked if she could have a ride in the "big blue tractor" and Dustin said well how 'bout the combine? Both girls thought that would be a great idea. So around the yard they went, guess the combine is in good working condition now.

Picking Flowers...

Hmmm I'm not sure if we should tell Papa that we were picking "flowers" in his canola field!! The girls had fun and really liked the yellow "flowers".

Hwy 21

I have always enjoyed travelling hwy 21, which is a good thing cause now I'll be travelling it a lot when we go visit my family.  This homestead is just South of Three Hills and each time I drive by it I think "oh I need to stop and take some photos" and each time I just keep on driving.  Well the other day as we were on our way home from "the farm" I stopped and took some photos, all beit not my best photos as I was taking them from the cab of my truck.  There's something about old homesteads that just intrigue me, I'd love to listen to the stories they could tell.

Sprinkler Fun

The girls have made a friend next door, she is 8 and her name is Shaylynn. Last night we put our sprinklers on to water the sod and all the girls thought it would be a great way to cool off and ran through them.  They had 3 sprinklers to run through and OH what FUN they had. There's nothing quite like Sprinkler Fun!

Lets go together

Rocks

I've been looking at this pile of rocks ever since we moved into our new home.  Each day I wonder how heavy are they and where could I put them? I'd love to clean them up and make a "garden" or something creative out of them and I just might have to take my trusty wagon over and see for myself just how heavy they really are.  Hmm and I wonder where my girls get their "love" of rocks from! LOL.  Seriously though they really would make a great display in my yard though.
