Funky Clouds

The wind picked up and the clouds rolled in and I thought, "yup we're in for a gooder of a storm." Alas no storm, however, the clouds were fascinating to watch. These were all taken within minutes of each other and to the North and East.

I thought this looked like the "starship enterprise"

After a light rain shower a beautiful double rainbow arched over the barnyard. My girls called it Peter Pans Rainbow!

A Beautiful Night Sky

Well what started out as a very cloudy, chilly morning sure turned into a lovely, clear evening and a beautiful night sky.

A VERY Blustery Day!!

WOW!!!! The wind was HORRID today! It's a good thing I'm well anchored or else I could've been blown away today.

Papas flag was flyin' at full speed.

Funny these streamers didn't blow right off.
Generally my Sam likes to sit with his face in the wind but today he was not soo happy to do so.

Schools Out

Schools Out!!

I can only imagine how many children went through this school and how many pranks were played on a teacher.

Two of my favourite things, old buildings and sunsets.

A favourite spot to take photos.

Tools of the trade

Ever wonder how a cowboy hat is made? I never gave it a thought before never wondered or cared really. Well now I know that they are made from bever or rabbit and I know a guy that can make some pretty awesome looking hats.  The tools he uses you would probably find in a museum, an old treddle like sewing machine, old irons, along with a variety of other tools I cannot name.  So if you're in the market for a new hat, need one cleaned  or would like a scoop of Ice Cream, take a trip on down to Barbwire Custom Hats on the boardwalk in Big Valley. Tell them Carmen sent you! Although I'm not sure what deal you would get, you may have to scoop some ice cream! LOL

I don't know what this is called only that he uses it. LOL

A hat in the making!

Irons waiting to be used.

Rain Rain Rain

The grass looks greener but the fence looks a bit dreary though.  The rain is needed but perhaps Mother Nature would like to send some sunshine our way too.

Mom's flowers look a bit sad though, perhaps some sun would cheer them up.

4H Day

Today I went on a trip down memory lane to the 4-H show in Stettler.  Many many moons ago I was in 4-H Beef (only for a year) however my sister was in it for years.  Now along with our cousin she is a leader for the Big Valley 4-H Beef club. This year the club celebrated 60yrs of 4-H.  It's a small club now made up of mostly junior members (ages 9-11) and they sure shined today!! Way to go B.V Beef club!!

Hmm who will he choose?

Getting ready to show their calves

A "showman" in the making.

The Whole Gang

The Lloyd & Sharon Duncan Family

The Whole Gang!!! At first when I suggested a family pic I was met with hesitation and groans, however this morning when it was brought up everyone just popped in line and had "voila".

Uncle Brent, Auntie Cheryl, Papa, Grandma, Myself, Bob and of course Elyzabeth and Emmarsyn (in the back)

Not a bad lookin' group of folks.

Boone Family

We sure had a fun time this afternoon with the Boone family.  We were not sure what the weather was going to do, a bit windy and on the chilly side but otherwise a great day.

I have a thing with putting my kids in trees, this one was huge and seemed to scream at me to put a kid in it.

Ely looks so darn tiny compared to this huge tree.

A very cool tree

The girls and I wandered around O'Brien park tonight and came across this old tree.  If only I had a rope or "tow strap" I would've tried to take this home! It would look fabulous in my yard at our new home.

This very neat looking knot is on the otherside.

Ahhh my adventurous gals, searching for treasure, footprints or bugs. They have fabulous imaginations and love to go exploring.
