A new poser!!

A friendly fella indeed. He came right up to the fence and gave me both sides of his face then stayed there while I took his photo.

A new visitor

There's a field full of horses just up the road from our house they have 3 new babies. The newest one was really close to the fenceline this afternoon so the girls and I took a closer look. This new fella looked like he was a bit chilly today.

This fella came in for a closer look at us.

Playin' in the Mud

Another weekend has came and went in a gust of wind no less. So much for our "weekly fires" not to be had this weekend with the wind howling at us. The hubby and girls are down with colds so today was a very "lazy Sunday" in our home. My nose was planted in my book and my camera forgotten for today. Here's some photos taken earlier in the week when we were out cuttin and stacking wood.

What to do with Wind??

The sun is out, the sky is blue and whatever you do leave your hat at home!! The wind is GALE Force at best.  Ran an errand today at Walmart and carts are rolling all over the parking lot. Nevertheless the kids did NOT seemed to be affected by it. They were busy playing with shovels, pails, bikes, and their imaginations!! Well all except my Emm. she seemed to be bored with the day as her BFF was not home today and she seemed lost. Love her pouty face though.

Stacking Wood or NOT

The other night we were out cutting wood and while my hubby cut the wood and my girls stacked it I happened to wander away with my camera.  A good friend of ours owns an acreage and there's all sorts of old buildings, large nests and trees to explore and capture.  Perhaps next time I'll actually be of some help and stack the wood too.

Painted Toes

Ahh the things a Dad will do for his girls!! The other day the girls and I were painting our toe nails  and they asked if they could paint my fingernails.  I quickly detoured their attention to their Dad whose toes were bare. I really should've had my camera handy as it was quite the picture with each girl painting one foot. He's quite the Dad!!

The cats in the bag

I was sitting at the computer this afternoon and Buster happened to be under my feet. Him or Sam usually lay there while I work at the computer no big deal. Then I heard a rustling noise and looked down and here was the cat with his head in a bag!! Nothing in this bag but an empty egg carton. He played in this bag for quite some time. I must admit it was quite amusing.

Soo close and yet so far

Miss Apphia!!

Well I've been a bit "lazy" with my posts this weekend. I'm sooo close to completing my "365" posts and still it seems so far away. Thursday, Friday and Saturday were very busy at our house and well Sunday just seemed to get away from me as well.  So here's to a new week of staying on top of my postings!! My "year" was up the end of February and still it's taking me forever to finish that 365!!! Thanks for being patient and staying with me.

Two little monkeys...

These two gals had quite the fun time at the park yesterday.  I know I was agile as a kid but I never could master those monkey bars! This little gal at only 4yrs has them mastered already, she's quite the monkey.

Mom's Birthday

Yesterday I turned 41, officially over 40 now.  My youngest asked me when we were having cake and presents? LOL I replied that Moms and Dads don't really have parties with cake and presents as we are older and don't need them. She seemed satisfied with that and went about playing.  However, what I didn't tell her is that parents have different parties on their birthdays. We celebrated over the weekend with friends and neighbours and lastnight was our family party. All four of us went out for a lovely supper with friends and yes I did get a piece of cake! 40 was a wonderful age and year and here's hoping 41 is even better!! I've a fabulous hubby that loves me "no matter what" faults, blessings and all and two beautiful daughters that think the same!! So I'm embracing 41!!!

Dress Up

Ahh Playing Dress Up!!! What better way to spend an ugly weather day!! I remember as a kid always playing with my Mom's clothes and shoes it was so fun to dress up and go on an adventure of sorts.  My girls are no different!! I believe the dress up clothes are the only "toys" that have been carted around with each of our moves. Not quite sure what this look is suppose to be with Ely though.

Lazy Sunday in the South...

Talk about LAZY LAZY!!! The weather outside was certainly NOT spring time weather today. Needless to say we all stayed pretty close to our couches, even the dogs.  Dad seems to be a human couch though as well as a climbing wall, punching bag and chair!!

Meet Ryker

This fella is the cutest I've seen in quite some time. He's got the bluest eyes and at only 4mos he's so alert and bright. Sure wish they lived here in town so I could watch him for his parents.

Happy Siblings Day

One of the first photos of my girls together. I always wanted to have 2 daughters that had the possibilitty to be as close as my sister and I are. My wish was granted!!! They are each others best friend and at times worst enemies!! I wouldn't have it any other way.

Hide and Seek

Today was one of those days where a "nap" just seemed to happen. Mom had a short one herself and while I conked out so did Miss Ely. Well she was tucked under the blanket so far that you had to really search to find her.

Show and Tell

The girls spent their Easter Break at the farm with Papa, Grandma, Dustin, Auntie Cheryl and Uncle Brent. One of the things we asked Emm to do was to take photos while she was there so she could use some of them for her show and tell at school. Papa took her on the "buggy" through the cows so she could get some photos of the calves. Here is one of her "close ups". She took it through the windshield but it's still a pretty good photo.

River Bridge

This ol' bridge has been around, well forever it seems. Each time it snows or rains people around "these parts" cringe. You see this is a huge hill that crosses the Red Deer River and it's famous for being in "bad" condition. Today however it was just wet and slushy. I stopped for a minute and snapped a photo or two.

#1 Mom

I the almost 7yrs that I've been a Mom I've told I'm the best and the worst  Mom ever! However, today I am the #1 Mom! Grandma took my girls shopping and Emm picked out this charm and necklace for me. You see my birthday is this month and the girls love to give gifts and celebrate birthdays. They were soo excited they couldn't wait until my birthday to give it to me. I'm not sure what's more precious, the look on their faces when they gave me the gift or the look of my Mom's face when they did.

I do have the BEST Girls and the BEST Mom EVER!!!

Love you gals!!

Snack Time

Love the look on the face of this ol' gal!!! Yikes!!

Emmarsyn asked Papa to take her down to the calves so she could take some photos for her show and tell next week back at school. I haven't yet sorted through her photos (these are mine) but I'm sure she's got some good ones.

Adventures galore!!

Gotta love "Adventures with Grandma"!!! The girls have been hanging out with Grandma & Papa and the gang at the farm since Easter. I surprised them today and was entertained with stories of their adventures so far. Seems like my girls are quite the "farmers" these days.  I know one thing they sure love to ride in the "buggy".
